As a Black-led organization rooted in the principles of reproductive justice, we are committed to:
Building a team that reflects the communities we serve including Black people, Indigenous folks, and people of color, callers, LGBTQ+ folks, southerners and immigrants
Prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of our community including staff, volunteers, interns, and board members
Creating a culture that prioritizes rest and creates opportunities for staff, board members, and volunteers to attend to their needs and live whole and fulfilling lives outside of our work
Divesting from racial capitalism and any and all oppressive systems that prioritize one’s labor over their humanity

We are so appreciative of the folks who give their time to help ensure our neighbors, friends, and community members can access abortion care.
Currently, our volunteer team is primarily focused on fundraising efforts. They’re indispensable when it comes to convincing our community to resource abortion care here in the South. If you’re interested in helping organize donation drives, building community among LAAF supporters, and thinking of new and fun ways to get folks involved we would love for you to join us.
We especially love working with folks who have utilized LAAF’s services and those from communities LAAF aims to center in its work including Black folks, LGBTQ+ folks, Indigenous and people of color, and immigrants.
